A couple of years ago I received a real ostrich egg from my best friend. I really like this special memory and promised him I would keep it and always look after it and that one day, perhaps, I would cover it in gold beads and make it my treasure…
At that time I only knew of simple beading techniques and I had no knowledge or experience in “professional beading”. But, I kept my promise and now, a couple of years later, it has been done.
It was a quite a long process, one which I started in August 2012 and finally finished in 2014.
Of course I didn’t work continuously on just this one piece … It was a kind of “long-term exercise” and I made other jewellery alongside it.
